Elite Community Ultrasound (ECU) is delighted to offer this comprehensive scan for both man and woman who are 18years or above and do not want to wait for weeks for finding an answer.

This scan includes Abdominal aorta and Common iliac arteries.

Abdominal Ultrasound is the most widely used non-invasive method of screening for abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA). Screening involves detecting the presence of the condition in individuals who do not present with any symptoms. Early detection allows both the patient and their healthcare provider to take appropriate action to treat and manage the condition. In the event of a ruptured aortic, the resulting bleeding can be fatal.

As per British Heart Foundation, a rupture may never occur but if it does, it is fatal in 80 per cent of cases. Ruptured aortic aneurysms cause 5,000 deaths in the UK each year. They are most common in men over 65 - they are responsible for 1 in 75 deaths of men in this age group.

In most cases you won't have any symptoms of an aneurysm, so an ultrasound test is the only way to find out if you have one. But if an aneurysm becomes large it can sometimes cause a pulsating feeling in your abdomen, or persistent back pain.

For more information regarding this scan please read the under-mentioned FAQs.

Booked an early pregnancy scan, and they were sensational! Bent over backwards to make sure we had an appointment time that worked for us, even came in early so that we could have the scan on the day we wanted. Dr Gupta was so knowledgeable, reassuring, funny and kind. So many words of encouragement and wisdom. Would highly recommend!

We had a very good experience with Dr Gupta, baby was very stubborn at our 4D scan and we were offered a free rescan where we still couldn't see baby well but he gave us multiple opportunities to go for a walk to get baby to move to get better photos.
